The new Thai livery is so sharp. Very eye catching.

zergcerebrates, i am not sure what you mean. If you check the news article, and the figure in hkairport website. The Bangkok one is 560000 something, and the HK one is 570000. So wouldn't the one in HK is obviously bigger?
I am pretty sure the title for both is like "World's largest SINGLE passenger terminal", in this case, both hk's and bangkok's is "single". So there are no difference in terms of category, purely size.

According to Guiness Book of World Records HK airport is not 570,000sq.m

"Largest Airport Terminal
The Hong Kong International Airport passenger terminal building is 1.3 km. (0.8 miles) long and covers 550,000 sq. m. (135.9 acres). The design incorporates a Y-shaped concourse and is the world's largest single airport building.

Just the baggage hall of this gargantuan building is as big as the Yankee Stadium in New York (it could hold five Boeing 747s parked wing tip to wing tip). Served by 48 aircraft parking stands with boarding gates and air bridges, the terminal has a design capacity of 45 million passengers a year, arriving on 460 flights every day. There are 3 km (1.8 miles) of moving walkways, 55,000 m (13.59 acres) of glass cladding and around 117,000 m (28.9 acres) of carpeting."

HOLY SHIT, that's a beautiful airport inside and outside. I love how they have the interior lighting.

Thanks Chad.

55000 is definitely old figure. As i mentioned earlier, this figure does not include the new extension of shopping mall section (sky mart) in the east hall of passenger terminal. Plus, there are plans to widen the current terminal building by 4 curved roof. (2 on the north side, 2 on the south).
Anyone, all these is getting confusing. I believe the current Guangzhou terminal got a similar title.
So Bangkok vs HK vs GZ vs Beijing (2008)

Hmm. Anyways the Guangzhou airport is the largest in Mainland China, but not the largest if you include Hong Kong.

yea, i think small difference in size really doesn't matter. Interior design, the atmosphere the architect wants to present to the visitor, the overall layout of the terminal is much more important. I am glad that Bangkok has a new airport, and joining all cities in Asia that got new one recently. HK, Guangzhou, Seoul, and who else?
