Even though they're total Chrysler Building copy cats, I'm really starting to like these towers.

the spires turned aout really nicely........a futurised chrysler crown.....but the cladding color should be a bit brighter to fit better with the crowns....but all in all a very nice design...alhough its copied.

I'm sorry to say but these turned out just the way I thought they would.
Everything about them is just incredibly cheap looking, the cladding colour is especially .Just look at the pictures, they're the worst looking towers of the bunch. The weird proportions and nasty base don't help either. I had a feeling that despite the chrysler ripoff they'd build these with a bit of class but I was wrong. At least they look OK from far away though, they look good in the skyline, as long as you can't see any of the details

I'm not going to go on a heated bashing frenzy of this building/buildings? I think it looks some what alright and strikingly accurate on quite a few levels. Forget the base of the building. Towards the base there is a break in the facade and a large arch with darker glass. I thought that was an odd portrayal of the the same feature on the original. Chryslers is much smaller and at street level though. Even the window pattern is the same. The spire is near exact and the height is also close vbut theres a twin.. one of few differences. It does look cool but it is also a total insult.
It isn't flattering at all but they have good taste. Chicago's 2 Prudential and 1 Liberty base their designs on chrsyler but respected the individuality of the one in New York and there is a certain class you uphold as an architect, and a developer. You can be greasy all you want when it comes to your money but this is thievery & done in very poor taste. There is a version in Vegas but it is comical at best and not nearly as offensive as this. Sorry to whoever this offended, not my intention and I hope noone gets nutty over these comments because I am only knocking this complete rip off. The project is definetly not worth taking this post personally.

I love the rooftop designs! Its look very modern even it is a copycat of Chrysler Building. The rest of both towers look plain and too common. I think the building body should have some steel parts like the rooftops so it would look much better and attractive.

Agree with this. Nothing wrong with getting inspiration from other stuff. Even copying some elements is OK but should be done with taste

Well, I kinda like them. Lighting is strange in that photo, in other photos the towers themselves are a little lighter, and look better. But will the spires be filled with some sort of coating, or are gonna stay this way? I would prefer the first option. Anyway, you like them, or you don't but everyone knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

^ Says who? The chrysler was unique. Like I stated before many buildings base their form, facade, spire on chrysler. It is one of the worlds most iconic high rises but this is nearly exact to chrysler. See Vegas is nearly identical but its a damn hotel and a poorly imitated replica (intended I believe) connected to an imitation Empire State and other poorly imitated ny buildings. It is as if this architect and developer stole Van Alens idea.. infact, they did! You can't say oh but the box has been done over and over why doesnt anyone bother to defend it? Its so generic and overdone and if there is a building to defend then I doubt anyone knows it. So in otherwords this architect stole the infividuality and everything that was unique and distinct about the chrysler.. it is no longer one of a kind. Thats too much. Notsomething toget really woked up over but definetly worth shaking my head in disgust. I'll bet they light it up the same at night too. Whats next... replica Empire State? Replica Sears? Replicas of Woolworth? It doesn't matter what the purpose of the building is and imitation in this way is not a form of flattery.. your an architect, this is an expression of art for them. To just take out a few minor details and call it your own and say a building inspired you to copy it nearly base to crown is shameful. I would say the same thing if it popped up on any street in Manhattan other than Lexington.

disgraceful, they took my favorite skyscraper and built a horrific copy that already looks dated..and has a twin? they took art deco and crushed the life out of it, the architect should be slapped.

First of all 2 Pru is completely different than Chrysler - it is just in this topic I realized that someone might actually find it inspired by Chrysler. I don't know what 1 Librty looks like, as I didn't find it on Emporis. But while I was looking for it I found the new Waldorf Astoria in Chicago, which is a complete rip-off of Shanghai WFC. I don't mind it, I don't expect every building to be completely original, but I wonder what is your opinion on that one? Are you so critical as well, or, because you're "completely in love with Chicago", that one seems to you highly unique in all it's Shanghaifulness? To sum it all up, I don't think, that because something was done before, it is completely forbidden to do it again. I am not trying to promote it, I just say I kinda like these towers, and it's not the worst thing that could ever happen, if they were ripped-off Chrysler.
