I'm quite interested in seeing the new Bangkok airport. Too bad I had to go through the old one during my August visit.

been to Changi, Sydney, Narita, and few european airports,i find KLIA surpassed others in terms of design, architecture. i like the rainforest idea in the middle of the satellite building. so serene... cant wait to see the fully developed KLIA. Go Go

My favourite airports in Asia are HKG and SIN. Mainland China has many very nice airports too (especially CAN - Baiyun), and I'm excited to visit the new BKK airport as well.

The best in the world though, without a doubt, is Copenhagen Intl. It's just ridiculously well designed and run.

There is a lot of talk about architecture, but what about facilities? Aren't those the most relevant things to the traveler?

One thing, Changi has alot of them, even a swimming pool.

HKIA on the other hand isn't that boring at all especially waiting for your flight. At least they have internet counters where you can go online and check out SSC

Free internet access is a common theme across many Asian airports, but is very lacking in Europe and North America. I had to visit my gold club lounge in the US to get internet, and not all of them have computer terminals either. I was a little surprised BA's executive lounge in San Francisco only had computer connections but no computers. The Admirals Club lounge at JFK is far better. They even have printers, but holding a business class ticket alone is not enough to even enter that lounge.

I have never been to these areas. And the only terminal I've been to in JFK is the Jet Blue terminal.

On the other hand on my flight from LA to HK, there were internet access in LAX but you have to pay $$

For airports with more than 10 million users per year

1st place Singapore Changi -- Perfect !
2nd HKIA--if there are swimming pools like SIN its definitely 1st place
3rd Incheon -- very futuristic !
4th KLIA --very unique !
5th Munich --great design. A great introduction to Germany !
6th Kansai -- good lighting and colour
7th Narita -- the most efficient airport !
8th Kobenhavn --simple and inspiring !
9th Guangzhou -- very artistic !
10th Nagoya Centrair -- very clean and modern !

Skytrax also has categorical rankings based on specific areas such as shopping, security, staff friendliness, and cleanliness :

A lot of Asian cities have new airports, so from an appearance point of view, they look great and sleek. Hence, they have a clear advantage over older airports in Europe and North America.

To be fair service in most major Asian cities tends to be better than it's European and American counterparts too.

Then I fell asleep in her arms.
That was happiness then.
