I just got returned from a weeklong trip to China, where I visited both Beijing and Hong Kong. Both were very impressive, but I think I'd rate Beijing slightly higher than Hong Kong.

Perhaps I should put Beijing on my travel list again to see the new T3.

Although Schiphol improved less than other airports of the years. It still gets nominated for the best European Airports virtually every year (if not every year).

The Main terminal ( Check-in terminal ) of Suvarnabhumi is the WORLD's BEST in my opinion. Where else on this earth you would find 24-hr Convenience Stores and cheap street-like food below 40 bahts in an airport !??

But once you crossed the immigration, you'll see all the negative sides of Suvarnabhumi.

I would have to say Australian Airports are up there. With all international airports and I mean all, SYDNEY,MELBOURNE,BRISBANE,ADELAIDE,PERTH,PERTH and Darwin ofcourse there is CAIRNS,GOLDCOAST etc... but those big ones having renovations and extensions and all that glam I think it might give some world airports a run for their monety.

I like Melbourne International, except arrivalls, but they are fixing that.

Mate, seriously you must be blind if you think Aussie airports compare favourably with other worlds airports like Changi, HK, BKK and now Beijing etc.

I work at PER a fair bit and the place is an embarrassing dump. Old, tired, hotch-potch and a terrible first impression of the West.

SYD isn't all that either; very tired in places, as is MEL. Can't say I know too much about other Aussie airports though I'd wager BNE is better from what I've seen.

But Jesus, that's obviously the parochial spirit coming out in you. But looking objectively and without bias, much as I'm ashamed to say it, Aussie airports are shite in comparison.

Look on the bright side though. Least we don't have a T5 like Heathrow. May look good but functions as well as a chocolate teapot.

what I love the most is the massage center that I almost everytime use that services even a bit expensive (17 usd per hour ) but still cheaper than here in Sydney

I do agree that at the mo they arent the "best", hence the big expansions and new terminals,. renovations and so on being done by these airports. If anything they are world class cities, especially Melbourne having won "THE WORLDS MOST LIVEABLE CITY" so many times. I agree Changi, KL,BKK and HKG are amazing airports aesthetically but it doesnt mean they are very practical, a good example is DXB, what a shithole. It looks a done up refugee campsite, bodies everywhere, the same shop on eitherside on the ground floor, with that being the only shopping, security clearance 3 times etc....

I am patriotic too, love AUSTRALIA!!!!!

Yeah I agree in the most part. Of course we love Australia, who wouldn't?! But sadly our airports really let us down. Many of our cities may be liveable in world terms, but we are talking about the airports here, not the places they serve.

Personally I think SIN and HKG function very well as airports, in and out nice and quick, and both really look the part to boot. Only been to Don Muang in BGK - not Suvarnabumi - so can't vouch for the latter but DM was a cesspit.

As for DXB, well yes, everything you say is true. Terribly designed place, packed to the rafters, same same every which way you turn. Bag o' shite.
