My parents stay beside this constuction site and they r fed up with all the trucks coming in and going out and the fact that the area has lost 80% of the parking space that used to be there previously. My Mom even had to change to a smaller car for ease of parking.......

Rak tower on Reem island is infact at least 9months in advance !

In place of planned March 2010 .. they are planning to handover the project by June 2009 !

Talk about schedules !

These buildings do not fit very well with the surrounding area.

Hopefully once complete, it will appear different.

The low-rise part of central market looks very appealing with its modern take on the old souk style. But there will be very few places to view the building from as it is hemmed in by the existing cheap and cheerful apartments that form a perimeter cordon. These should have been cleared to make way for a bigger and better central market.

Looks like we will need to plan far ahead for shopping trips ( 2012 if we are lucky?) as the increased traffic density in that area is to be catered for by just a handful of access points. Just allow an extra 2-hours and you should be ok. Thats progress folks.
