excellent pictures on the progress of the facade of the Towers.

Does anyone have news on when the souk is due to open ? i was led to beleive it should have bee ready for operation around apr/may 2010 but clearly this has not happened ?

Souk opens at the end of July or first week in August.

hi there, thanks for the reponse, will be interesting to se what percentage of the souk is open if it opens on the tiemscale you quote.

I believe the fitouts have been on going with many issues arising and he car park issues still have not been resolved. i would not be surprised if the opening is delayed further.....

the ground floor of the souk opened yesterday and there are about 20 shops open. only gf open. the other shops are going through fit out or stocking shelves but it looks pretty good. there is also about 5 floors of underground parking with mawaqif outside. will see if i can get some photos tonight.

I totally agree i live beside this and i will have my breakfast facing this amazing glasses

NO the 3rd building i guess will be scrapped out, recently both the tower cranes were dismantled

You are very lucky to have a view of these towers. I can't believe they will scrap the 3rd tower. I thought the core was like 10 stories already.

I went to the Souq recently and it's DEAD!!! There were barely any people there, the shops that are there are not very popular... It's sad to see billions of dollars wasted like that...

True, there is not a lot of foot traffic, but new stores and restaurants are opening every month. Check out Shakespeare & Co. - always a lot of people. The cupcake place as well, does pretty good. At least some real thought when into this and they didn't just build another mall. Wait until the towers are finished, and you have a decent potential customer base always around - it'll take off pretty well.

Bu Maitha this isnt the 3rd tower this is one of the small hotels its not counted as a tower cause its just 10 Storeys high
