Chimney used as electricity pylon
In a book ( unfortunately I do not know its name) about the history of Stuttgart, I found a picture of the thermal power station Gaisburg from the thirties. It showed that at those days the chimney of the power station carried crossbars on which the overhead power lines leaving the powerstation were mounted.
However these lines exist no more. Nowadays no overhead powerline runs to the Gaisburg power station. But perhaps there are still powerstations at which the chimney is used as electricity pylon. If someone knows such a station, he or she should write it in this thread! |
