Don't bother really. I saw it the other day and it was okay, but nothing special in my opinion. A little annoying at times (that music was not good; it was bordering on hip-hop/pop) but it was also a little more entertaining in other times. I don't know if the animation got a bit more lazy towards the end, but I would have prefered if they kept all characters in animation. :P (Viewers of the movie should know what I'm talking about).

I haven't seen it but I hate it in animations when there is suddenly a real person. there may be some exceptions but it generally annoys me.

I want to see Smoking Aces when it comes out. I will probably see Rocky Balboa as well as I have been a tragic Rocky fan since a child.

Does anyone know when the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car?" will be released, if at all? Or has it come and gone already? Here's the preview: http://www.sonyclassics.com/whokilledtheelectriccar/. Many thanks to anyone who can answer this.

There was a limited release in early November. I only saw it advertised for about a fortnight in Brisbane at the Dendy/Palace. |

has anyone tried the Gold Class seats at Greater Union? It feels so good because there are no under 18s or habibs [tickets outpriced them] in the theatre. Just 12 people.
I watched The Night at The Museum. Pretty good movie as well.

just on animations, there not for adults guys, there for kids. i dont think they care if the music is a bit hip hop or animation is a bit iffy.
Ive only gone to see animations because i have kids.most have been brilliant.

That being said, in animations such as Happy Feet there are definitely themes that children will not even recognise. That's why films such as Shrek and Happy Feet which are marketed towards children, but made so anyone can appreciate them, usually do the best.In case you're interested, the Most Financially Successful Films of 2006 - 1 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2 Cars 3 X-Men: The Last Stand 4 The Da Vinci Code 5 Superman Returns 6 Ice Age: The Meltdown 7 Happy Feet 8 Over the Hedge 9 Casino Royale 10 Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby 11 Click 12 Mission: Impossible III 13 Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan 14 The Devil Wears Prada 15 The Departed

happy feet has been out since November in other countries, same with casino royale, but still, pretty good effort compared to the other top ones, which have been out a long time.

But aside from that, I think 1 or 2 parts would have scared kids too since it scared my friend. But the adventure part was fun, though during the end, it seemed that the animation got less inspirationaal and probably more lazy, so it lost marks there. But if I'll ever reccomend kids movies, it'll definitely be every Pixar movie (like Finding Nemo) and old Disney movie (like The Lion King) anyway! Pity they don't make such movies anymore. We can only rely on Pixar now to give us the goodies!

Went and saw 'The Queen' yesterday and the critical acclaim it has received is very well deserved. The two leads are extremely convincing as Blair and the Queen and at times you forget that you're watching a movie rather than documentary footage. Hopefully I will get to see Marie Antoinette soon. Casino Royale was fantastic and one of my favourite movies of 2006. Happy Feet though was a disappointment since I had such high hopes for it after a very long publicity campaign - though the animation was spectacular. On the topic of movies, seeing film posters and tv ads for the new Will Smith movie, "The Pursuit of Happyness" [sic], have been annoying the hell out of me. Since when has the word 'happiness' been spelt with a 'y' instead of an 'i'? Last edited by matt_87; January 2nd, 2007 at 02:21 PM. |

I saw Santa Clause 3 December last year. There weren't many people there, and it wasn't the best movie. My favourite character is Mother Nature. She also plays Andrea on Ghost Whisperer. Tim Allen is the same and boring as usual. What I hated was parts of it didn't extend the story at all. The bit where they go back in time and Jack Frost was Santa seemed a bit of a waste.
Last night I saw Night at the Museum at 9:55pm, which ended 5mins into today. It was a really good movie, that T-Rex was cool. Ben Stiller is good in these types of movies, but the bit about him being divorced wasn't developed enough. Robbin Williams as Roosevelt was a good choice, he fitted the role well. I absolutely hated the guy who owned the museum who fired Stiller 2 times. That trio of old grumpy men were SO annoying. Especially the really grumpy one. The monkey was cute, and the lions lacked the reality. Overall it was a good movie. Night at the Museum- 8/10 Santa Clause 3- 6/10 |

Yeah, i was surprised about "Night at the Museum". I thought it would be really cheesy and boring. It was better directed than i anticipated.
Yesterday, watched Flushed Away. It is much better than the trailer. Way better!

One movie I am NOT going to see: Happy Feet
They have been advertising it for over a year. Channel 7 have an ad for it every adbreak, plus their version of it is really really annoying. And what plot must a whole bunch of penguins singing have? I thought the purpose of a Trailer was to show a quick overview of the plot without spoiling it. |
