Interesting thread, but I feel it isn't at its' place in the Your Cities section.
Best to be in the general, but since you intend to share this with the rest of the EE, I think I'll put it in the main section

The one I liked some time most ...
... is this one:
(Hagia Sophia in Trabzon - Turkiye, Black Sea area.) Really great is, off course, the hagia sophia in Istanbul, about 1500 years old, for centurys the biggest church in the world, build about the same time Mohammed was born or rome was more or less destroyed and the center of christianity was byzanz (and it is quite interesting, that the most modern mosqes are build similar ... ):

^ Not the most recent, necessarily. Arab mosques are quite different. But Ottoman mosques were built in the same form, yes! Very much so.
I like it. The transition from Christianity to Islam is something I relate to by the nature of the religion itself, as well as my national and family heritage. So I love these sorts of symbols. The church above this, the other Haga Sofiya, is gorgeous as well! |

So, the point of this thread is to show off your own churches, or the what you consider the best (not nessarily in your own country)?
