I cannot believe the sheer magnitude of this cities highrise growth...on paper at least. It is incredible. I hope that it is all followed through with. Miami's downtown shoreline is already gorgeous, but this will truly make it among some of the greats.

The Chelsea is a nice tower, though an awkward name for a tower.

And Miami's current and hopefully soon to be growth is and will be stunning!

Miami should definitely throw those parking garages underground. At first I thought that b/se of the city's geography that underground parking was impossible for a low lying city like Miami. However, when I read an article about possibly putting Interstate 395 underground and surrounding it with parkland I began to see that underground parking was credible and very possible. Miami should increase investment in mass transit and put those garages underground.

@urbanaturalist, we've got in Holland also undergound parking. So geography shouldn't be a problem.

Btw, very impressive projects in Miami, one of my favourite American cities!

Urbanaturalist Miami already has plans to add 89 miles of heavy rail to it's existing metro already.

Building these things is expensive enough as it is, putting the parking underground would add another huge cost. At least most of them cover the parking garages with loft units and retail.

New Towers for Miami this week:

600 Brickell: 2 towers, 68 stories, 903ft Mostly office with a hotel and residential portion as well.

1080 Brickell: 43 stories, 491ft. Office/Residential

Biscayne Plaza: 5 buildings, 52 stories totaling 2,470 residences and over 200,000 sqft of retail

COR: 17 stories, 380ft Office/Residential. Interesting design:

By the way that puts Miami's count of buildings over 100 feet currently in the development pipeline at about 450, with at least 36 of them being over 600 feet!!!

That seems to be a common reaction to this building. They're actually wind turbines. The building will also feature solar panels, though I haven't been able to spot them in any renderings.
