Oh dear, it is him. it is a small world. Of all the 38 million Polish, we have a common acquaintance.

He was actually a friend of my good friend whom he met during Euro 2012 when my friend slept on his couch. As my friend lived in the Northern states they crashed at our place while in Kuala Lumpur.

Koleje Mazowieckie orders Pesa double-deck coaches
24 Feb 2014

POLAND: Mazowieckie voivodship regional passenger operator Koleje Mazowieckie has selected Pesa to supply two 3 kV DC electric locomotives, 20 double-deck intermediate coaches and two double-deck driving cars.

These are said to be the first double-deck cars to be produced in Poland, and will supplement the fleet of 11 locomotives, 26 double-deck intermediate coaches and 11 double-deck driving cars supplied to KM by Bombardier.

Pesa’s bid of 61·7m złoty beat Newag’s bid, which was 24·3m złoty higher. The difference is accounted for by Newag offering Bombardier Traxx locomotives with a coach based on Bombardier double-deck design.

There was also another bid for modernization of 72 old EMUs organised by Koleje Mazowieckie:

Koleje Mazowieckie wyłoniły dostawcę 22 wagonów piętrowych i dwóch lokomotyw do obsługi pociągów uruchamianych w systemie „push-pull” oraz wykonawcę napraw i modernizacji 72 elektrycznych zespołów trakcyjnych serii EN57.(...)

W przetargu na naprawę i modernizację 72 elektrycznych zespołów trakcyjnych serii EN57 spośród złożonych ofert – od Newagu S.A. i od Zakładów Naprawczych Taboru Kolejowego „Mińsk Mazowiecki” SA – została wybrana oferta ZNTK „Mińsk Mazowiecki” SA. Zamówienie obejmowało 45 napraw elektrycznych zespołów trakcyjnych serii EN57 w poziomie utrzymania P4 oraz 27 napraw ezt serii EN57 w poziomie utrzymania P5 wraz z modernizacją wszystkich pojazdów. Realizacja inwestycji w przypadku modernizacji 27 EZT potrwa do końca listopada 2015 roku, pozostałe jednostki mają zostać oddane do eksploatacji najdalej do końca grudnia 2015 roku. Koszt napraw i modernizacji składów wyniesie ponad 253 mln zł brutto.

Wydaję mi się, że wejście po drugiej stronie ronda (to przy Ryłko) było malowane.

so the entrance to the stations won't look like a butterfly? When you look at the construction it seems like it will look like this...

It looks similar to a bat, when it's not flying IMHO.

On the part currently under construction they will look like you mentioned, natansalda. Steel frames are already completed on some stations. However, I have no idea how they will look like on further stations on 2nd line.

May I just ask, because I don't know it for sure. In which direction constructions will be continued? I thought that to Chrzanów to firstly build the new depo there. I'm not sure, just because the latest words HGW to this case.

AFAIK they've decided for 3+3 - 3 stations to the west, and 3 stations to the east.

That was maybe the initial plan, but the space around the projected Mory-depot is still not developed. Does not make sense to go that far yet. So, I guess after adding three stations to the west and three to the east, they will do the next extentions again east and west on line 2 (three stations north and 3 or 4 west). Actually it“s most likely that a new depot will be built on the Praga-side on old railway-alignment near Warsaw-East railway-station. Probably suitable also for branch-line to Goclawek.

Kind regards

Strange for me. Mory has a good connection to PLK network through Odolany, and just right next to local electricity station.

Mory would be the location for the depot only. Line 2 would follow the new S8-motorway. There is still no development for housing there, so it does not make sense to build a metro yet (it is said). At the moment the next eastern end of line 2 would probably be at Lazurowa street in Bemowo. But maybe while building this extension they create new housings further east, who knows.

Kind regards
