No, it isn't.

Affairs here are as stale as ever. It was reported earlier this month that funding per the city's 20-year transport has now fallen short, so there's been squabbling about which aspects (packages) should take priority over other ones. What really peeved me about this was the stale rhetoric offed by the STM's Finance Committee's chair (himself a civic counsellor {politician}), marveling about how the debate is bringing transit issues to the fore: Such BS! because the 'discussions' are nearing 50 years in age.

Alas, of all the 'initiatives' mentioned in the article I'd read, there was no mention about extending the Blue line farther into the East End, which supposedly was a priority item on the sitting provincial government's electoral campaign of 9 months ago. (This government's been creating a stink here the past several days with its proposal to prohibit all public servants from wearing or displaying religious symbols ... bunch of ******* crooks, politicians are.)

Smh. I just hope that new rolling stock is able to be produced next year. They seem impressive!

Progress of their production hasn't been reported in English around here, come to think of it.

I myself am reserving full judgement of the appearance of the new model until its undercarriage be revealed. The uncluttered design to our current undercarriage exteriors have always appealed to me ... especially how the bottom edges of the central doors rest high above the bottom frame edge...some sort of floating effect, if you will. Something tells me that this clean design isn't retained in the Azur fleet.

Since late-winter, trains have been running late. The departure order signal can be heard when the train stops in the platform. New software was so spotty to the point that network-wide service stalls periodically occured and endured for hours at a time. Commuters were pissed off by these failures. The first software patch of early-winter was no good, service failures still happened. Second patch, now since late-winter, appears to be somewhat of an improvement. Although not reported by the media, I'm certain that the ¾-minute delays standing at every 3rd station platform that us passengers have been experiencing all these months now are induced to prevent the computer operating system from seizing up, otherwise outright service failure would ensue.

STM only, i.e., neither RTL nor STL buses (off-island, suburban transit systems) revealed.

Trial version of the new real-time GPS transit tracker has been available to select passengers for some weeks now (I can't remember the name of this software/app). App is hoped to be available to anybody come the new year.

Hehe ... most Quebeckers know only Quebec legends ... it was only a year or so ago that I read some local anglo news report that recollected some suspicion from back in the day that those electro chimes hail from the intoductory notes of some patriotic theme song composed for Expo 67, a.k.a. Man & His World/Terre des Hommes.

Little news ... a couple of days ago, radio news happened to have wove in a remark that the new fleet's supposed to start coming into service next year.

6Km's worth of Blue line extension ... rolling stock, today (yesterday, really), wasn't mentioned ... a yellow line extension was what was also brought up

It's a tight city, it needs lots more metro coverage than what's supposed to be proposed tomorrow (today).
