The AMT purchased CN-owned Deux-Montagnes subdivision. This will allow :

- Lower operating costs (no need buy trackage rights anymore for AMT commuter trains);
- Improve service as freight trains will not have priority anymore;
- Lower track maintenance and improvement costs;

That's great news! I'd love to see higher frequency on the electric line and hopefully see clock-face scheduling too. 4tph throughout the day and 6tph peak.

Well, it also removes a big obstacle to the eventual track doubling between Bois-Franc and Roxboro-Pierrefonds (7,6 km).

I think we can expect service increases in the near future. Now that CN is gone, the ALP-45DP locomotives and double decker coaches can enter service.

I'd rather see the frequency increase enough to make double decker coaches unnecessary.

The significance of the lifting of the meddlesome layers of legal hurdles off the Mount Royal Tunnel is news that's lost on our city, province and country

Crappy bus driving's more popular in Montreal than it's ever been .. trendy misalignments of interior bus mirrors substantiate how prolific abusive bus service is around the island:

For SEASONS now, I assumed the STM staff's on-going work-to-rule "CAMERA" sweatshirt campaign was for Camel cigarettes .. clearing that up took asking a (fair) driver, for their wordy armbands handily cloak all their endings!

I'm astounded by your presence! You must have appealed your banishment all the way to the supreme court.

The AMT started dynamic testing on the future Mascouche line, expected to open at the end of 2014.

Today's testing occured between Pointe-aux-Trembles and Repentigny stations.

That very branch had catenary out to Pious-9th Blvd up until several months beyond the advent of the metro, eh? Same thing for the long-shut Cartierville branch. The docklands catenary was lifted (I think) after WW2.

Indeed. Back then, CN's electric boxcabs also ran between downtown and Montréal-Nord.
