Homeless in your city, too noticeable?
I know this is a sad matter but it is a reality in all cities....
Are the homeless in your city very noticeable? What do you think about this problem?

I've never seen any homeless where I live, though my city is relativley small ~60,000 people. I have seen quite a few in Wellington though, but they aren't exactly 'rampant'.

What I hate are all these crybabies (I notice it in Brisbane) who leave home because they're parents made them clean up their room. They act as if they're all free-spirited and that then up becoming teabag smoking wrist slashers.
So many great, talented people being lost to the streets, drugs etc. If only people just had enough initiative to get a job.

Maybe only a few in my city, my town is either college students or pretty wealthy suburbs
Interestingly one of the worst places for this I've seen is Dublin, Ireland. Everywhere it was teenaged girls on the street "runaways" it seemed begging. |

In downtown LA there is. They come from all over southern cali (the sad truth is that other counties around LA dont want them there and push them into LA).

It's noticeable here in Valencia, because of the nice weather almost all the year. They have special hostels, but many of them refuse to rest in them because they prefer the freedom of the streets, not the rules of the hostel.
The most annoying thing is that some of them beg for alms to the people on terraces, mainly Romanian gypsies, one, and another, and another....it becomes annoying and sad at the same time. The funny thing is that you can see lots of Romanian gypsy women asking for money carrying babies on arms. When one of them finishes the round and she's not in sight, she passes the baby to the next one to ask for money, and so on. |
