Live it Love it!!! (Trip to HK)
Hi
I just got back from a few days stay in HK and took several pics. I had a great experience there and took some pics. I think I'll post some of my random pics here first. ![]() This is my favourite spot in HK: the Tsim Tsha Tsui waterfront promenade: I like the open, breezy feeling here, with the smell of the harbour and the people. At night its awesome: Walking towards it... |

thanks hya!
This was on the first day I arrived in HK (on May 28 ). It was in the late afternoon.here are more views of the promenade, and taking the Star Ferry over. ![]() ![]() I noticed that on Sundays it is a popular hangout for scores of South Asian, Filipino & Indonesian workers, so much that the promenade seems to outnumber locals. |

Surely you have more pictures to show us poor souls.....
That IFC2 tower is freakin cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sure it looks scary because of its immense height in relation to the heights of the surrounding buildings... Sure it looks scary because its so super sleek and shiny and glassy that it seems as though a very long spaceship has landed on earth to exterminate us humans................ BUT MY GOD I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks too like a shiny bullet piercing through the sky...... And its cool when the clouds prevent its top from being seen...like some mysterious building smack right in the middle of HK. Adds a little bit of excitement I suppose...to wonder just what is hidden behind those clouds... Okay I am going nuts here... |

My god NOW THATS WHAT YOU CALL A NARROW HARBOUR...
Is it ''fragrant'' standing on the harbour's shores? Read that waste, semi filtered raw waste is being dumped into it such that only rabbitfish etc survive. Can you compile a list of how much and on what did you spend there (excluding shopping etc, just like airfares, taxes, hotel, transport, these basics) What airline? Don't tell me its that S$288 HK return...... My god, I wouldn't mind paying like S$70 dollars more for SIA than Valuair if I want better service... But if I am dead broke, Jetstar I heard has prices like S$150 return? |

@ignoramus
The air is okay. not stinky. You have not included the airport tax etc... Total for JetStar + Return is $240 per pax. |

@hya...I know..I was there from about 4pm to 7pm..aiyah....
@ignoramus, dont worry I have more..its just that after not having posted pics for a while..its quite a lot to go through ![]() be assured I will post more, and yes I like 2IFC and 1IFC very much. There was one cloudy night 2IFC was lit up so strongly that the light seemed to disperse through the clouds like electricity..truly an out-of-the-world experience.... pls be patient

actually it wasnt smelly..it smells just like our Marina Bay/river..which is a familiar smell and makes me like it. Stand on the deck of the Star Ferry for the experience. (I hope that when they build the new piers, they will keep the old ferries) I flew free-of-charge to HK as I was using my SIA mileage for the ticket. I stayed free-of-charge as I put up at my cousin's house. ![]() My daily expenses included taxi-trips, rides on the MTR and meals, as well as paying to go to the peak and Lantau Island...I dont think I spent that much actually considering I wasnt planning to shop..just sight see... |

So give me a full run down of the costs. I would be so grateful for that...
Airfare: Tax: Transportation (To & from the airport): Hotel (which): Basically all the charges incurred travelling from SG Changi Airport to HKIA, from HKIA to hotel, & vice versa |

Oh okay...so the question earlier applies to hya only then...hehe...thanks.......
I can't believe you spontaneously decided to go on a trip overseas, and not only that, a non shopping one...its as though you just took the MRT to City Hall to look around and then go home, albeit an overseas one... |

It'll be cheaper if you take up free and easy package from CTC or any other travel agency.

@ignoramus
you'll be surprised. In total, we have spent $1.1K on accom + airfare (with taxes) + tpt. The free and easy package is cheaper... moreover, is on Cathay Pacific not JetStar + include airport transfer + free 1/2 day tour. @Rafflescity why the ifc facade looks uncomplete in that pic? Edit: I meant this one > http://tinypic.com/5ofbl0 Last edited by hyacinthus; June 7th, 2005 at 01:56 AM. |

I can't control myself anymore...that building is to die for... I wish I were the head of some evil multinational corporation sitting at the top floor sipping French wine and eating Char Shao Pao...haha... |

It looks like a reflection of the sky that made the 2IFC facade look weird in that last picture.
Fabulous pictures.
