One St George Wharf (The Tower) | Lambeth | 181m | 49 fl | T/O
St George's Wharf Tower, Vauxhall, London - 181m
I do believe this tower was approved not so long ago and well I was just on SSP and forumer MJPhilly in his photo thread of London took this picture of the Vauxhall area.......... ![]() Note the red crane still working on the massive development of St George's Wharf......now is that small red drill peice to the far right aiding in the construction of the last section of Kestrel House (5 [shown below] - the last bit of that large complex) or is the first construction picture of the St George's Wharf Tower??? Site Plan ![]() Even if I aint right, at least I've got this thread ready for everyone

No thanks!
I hope this is the start, but can they really get it going so quickly? It does look like a piling machine.

I saw the crane quiet a while back but thought that was to do with the smaller buildings. Didn't see the smaller red crane type thingy last time I looked.

I doubt they would be starting this so soon as if hey have permission now then it would only have been inthe last month as they had issues to resolve as part of the outcome of the inquiry. They stil have the small matter of finishing the other stages of St Georges wharf first & i'd imagine they would need some pre-sales to get the ball moving & tehy haven't started marketing this yet.
Still give it 6months & this will probably be in full swing. |

God, the finished St George's Wharf buildings need to be sent to Moscow where they belong... why couldnt they have built the whole development the way that the Tower will look? I guess the contrast will make us appreciate the design of the tower more... possibly. Broadway Malyan are stange, their designs are sometimes so different.

I meant St George's Wharf development as a whole - not the tower. The tops of these buildings are crap.

I think they're great - probably my favourite low-rise apartment blocks anywhere in the capital (sure as hell beat morelondon and some of the generic stuff down at the 'wharf). They're a little different for London, but certainly not ugly... I like the way it echos the design of the MI6 building across the road. As I said, probably not the style of London, but if we can have Manhatten in Canary Wharf, why not Miami Dade in Vauxhall?

well i have no idea, what i do know is the current development is more or less sold out (all five phases) and they are going to market a new phase soon which can only be the tower.
incidentally, if anyone wants the penthouse in hamiliton house which occupies the whole of the top of the building they can pick it up for a cool 4.5 million quid. |

Photo taken 2 weeks ago. You can see the red thing which we suspect is a piling device. Will try and get some closer shots soon.
