New Lerkendal Stadium
Trondheim - Norway

Lerkendal Stadium is the homefield for the greatest Norwegian football team, Rosenborg. This stadium was reconstructed in 2001-2003, but will soon be reconstructed yet another time. But this is not going to be any full scale reconstruction. A gigantic roof will be built uppon the stadium, which they can remove during summers. With this roof they will be able to play football even in mid winter with -30c and 1m snow outside the stadium. The cost of such a roof is estimated to be around 100 million NOK. But this is still planns which has not been approved, but the development will continue through 2005.

Nygårdstangen Hotel
Nygård - Bergen

A 90m tall hotel counting 50 000sqm with 26 floors was proposad for Bergen in 2001. The project was approved once and the developers was hoping for construction in 2003 if it became approved. As far as i know they had some problems with finding tenants, so i don't know if the project is a proposal or a "never built" tower. Anyway, the hotel was proposed in the city center, on the topp of a swimming center which was supose to be reconstructed. They was hoping to see the tower finished in 2005.

Kiss the frog
Oslo - Norway

Tullinløkka is a very central place in the middle of Oslo, between the national museum and the national gallery, that have been debated over for more than a century. So up until now it has been nothing more than a parking-lot. Now this summer, the national museum (for art, arcitecture and design) is putting up a giant inflatable "frog", wich will host an different exhibits. It opens this week as I've understood it. AFAIK, Tullinløkkas further destiny is still unclear.

I like Norwegian blocks of flats.
Simple, respect the context, just perfect.

The Arctic Cultural Centre looks similar to the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) in Toronto.
