Small Town UK - Grantham, My Town, PART 2
I went down town today….and took 150 pictures….here are some of them
![]() ![]() Thermometer in my car, it actually hit 28’C ![]() Street, Trees, Scooter ![]() ![]() Sainburys…you saw the inside in the last thread. ![]() Siam Gardens….nice restaurant…the place was closed, and some Thais had a right go at me. ![]() The place was called ‘Fat Lous’….and was a New York style place, it had a 10ft mock of the statue of liberty in the pond….nobody could finish one of their meals…just too big. ![]() Fish and Chip Shops….actually both of these are run by Cypriots. ![]() The Salvation Army’s Fort. ![]() Funny Pub Name ![]() Adult Store…Mates and I have gone on and on about how there wasn’t a sex shop in town…its been there 4 months now and all of us are too scared to go in ![]() ![]() Tollemache…I learnt his name ![]() ![]() ![]() Inside the museum…Isaac Newton section….there was so much of the museum I have missed out on here. ![]() ![]() Thatcher….she was born here ya know. ![]() An actual puppet used in the TV show ‘Spitting Image’ ![]() Arts Centre ![]() Ol’ Issac ![]() Tanning ![]() Reminds me of New Orleans this building ![]() Distance Shot ![]() ![]() A little busier than last time ![]() Old Grantham Pics…and Funny Street name. ![]() Morrison Fish Mongers ![]() ![]() Tourist map…and what probably is another funny street name….but I don’t get it. ![]() Mosaic outside Woolworths…more of these I say, I love it. feck it that'll do for now....how manys that....27 so far

Wasn't sure what to expect when I clicked on this thread. I've heard of Grantham before but have no idea where it is exactly. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by these photos as you've selected some interesting parts of the town and the place comes across as being full of 'English charm and character'.

![]() Geroge Shopping Centre ![]() Long gone are the red phone boxes....I didnt notice the 'Kill a Chav' sticer untill today. ![]() Market Cross ![]() One thing old....date on it read 15?? ![]() St Wulframs from a distance ![]() Fashion place ![]() I just liked the shutters ![]() Enterace to St Wulframs ![]() Amazing window....most British chruches have them...each one costs in the tens of thousands, which I did no know. ![]() ![]() Flags that seriouslt look like theyve been trough the wars, dont know the history though. ![]() ![]() This area of Grantham is the Oldest All these pics have been resized to minimize loading, thats why there are so many different sized photos. ![]() War Memorial Year ago in the curch yard I came accross a grave stone which said 'Tom Thumb' I havnt been able to find it again ![]() ![]() It was impossible to get all the front...the ones I have gotten miss the last 5ft or so of the spire. ![]() Another funny pub name....if you cant see it its called 'Noboddy Inn' ![]() Registry office entrance ![]() Close Up....this is now my wallpaper ![]() Thats what I call a Taxi

looks like a great little town. the first set of pictures remind me of a canadian town. what's the landscape like over there? are you close to the beach? is the countryside rolling farmland? is it a low area, with swamps? is ti heavily forested?

50 miles is the nearest Beach
The town is in a Valley I would say rolling Farmland.... ![]() Taken on my way home cutting trough a corn field. The Beehive Pub continued... ![]() ![]() ![]() Kids trying to skate in the town centre

Great Pics, I used to live down the road in Sleaford. Its not a complaint as such but did I miss the picture of the grocers shop in which Margaret Thatcher was brought up?. Her most famous quote, 'this lady's not for the turning.'
