A nice idea from Bydgoszcz, Poland. 10 paintings (copies) of Wyczółkowski in the streets of the city, describing the painting, the technique, story, ... Most of his work is in the city's museum.

We have something similar in my city:

In 2013, in Quilmes Department, the Municipality used some empty walls to exhibit works of renowned artist of Quilmes Aldo Severi. The mayor announced that it will do the same with works by Antonio Berni, Pablo Picasso and the Ecuadorian Oswaldo Guayasamin, among others (these works are in the city of Bernal and other areas of the department, because in the center of the city of Quilmes there are only works of Severi).

Examples of Quilmes City:

El mismo lugar, el 30 de Junio:

3. (El Teatro Colón ya no existe)

I love it when unwalkable industrial zones are converted into parks!

I respect your opinion, but I am curious, which cases do you mean? I tried to find some better examples.

I think he is referring to some of the communist housing. But after all there is only so much that one can do with a building that was not pretty to start with. It looks to me like some wonderful things are happening in Slovakia! Thanks for sharing them with the rest of us!

To be fair, the first two-three were quite lovely, modest renovations which kept the look and feel of the original buildings.

The other examples you posted in your showcase lacked a respect for the original buildings and it just looked like they went a bit crazy with the Styrofoam and paint. In the end, they looked unfinished or gaudy.

However, the post-industrial examples you posted from Kosice - beautiful!

Wonderful area, even if it's been posted several times here before it's still so impressive what they did.

I posted an update because of the new air shots from above, but mainly because the new congress building is more or less finished now .

By the way, is there any info on this empty tower in the center of the photo?

It is being demolished at the moment and will be replaced. Helmut Jahn made a concept for it. There was such a project, but I don't think it is the final one.
