Oh, c'mon, Buenos Aires had a lot of improvement with Macri, especially in the Microcentro, where a lot of streets have, one more time, cobblestone.

On this page there are mostly private buildings though. Due to the fast-growing economy the country hasn't been richer before than now. But indeed a lot of (public) buildings or offices for innovation are partially paid by EU-funds. Even then a lot of own money is spent too, since they rarely cover the full amount.

Pont Napoléon, Lille, France

The first bridge between the Esplanade and the Citadelle was constructed in 1809.

In 1918 it was destroyed by the Germans when they retreated.

In 1920 it was rebuilt for the international expo.

In 1944 the Germans were so friendly to destroy it again while retreating. It remained in this state for 70 years.

In January 2014, as part of the plan to revitalise the Citadelle, Lille started to reconstruct the bridge as it was originally. The works were finished in July and costed 1.8 mln euro. After nearly 100 years Lille has again the old Pont Napoléon!
