Jamaat Khana Mosque, Nizamuddin Basti (Mosque) (built: 1315-1325)

Nearly 700 years old and predating the Mughals by over 200 years, the Jammat Khana Mosque is the oldest islamic religious building in Delhi that is still in use. Everyday, thousands of worshippers congregate the compound, not least because the shrine of the revered Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya lies just outside the front door. Besides him, the tombs of the Sufi mystic Amir Khusrow, Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah Rangila, and Mughal princess Jahanara Begum also lie in the mosque's courtyard.

However, centuries of footfall, weathering, and lead paint has eroded the structure, and efforts are still ongoing to restore the mosque to its former glory.

Yeah, that's just normal development. But restoration is not revitalization either. Someone should finally change the name of this topic...

The title is fine, but people don't seem to understand it.
Revitalization means that something is being brought back to life. You can do this with a renovation of course, but also with adding new stuff to the old. If you would demolish everything old before putting something new in, it wouldn't be revitalization.

No, it is not fine and also this is exactly why it should be changed.
Development with new investments is just as close to revitalization as renovation - could be part of it, but usually isn't. And as 3/4 of this forum is about development, this thread should also have 'renovation' in it to distinguish this process from development as well as better describe most of the stuff that is presented here.

Yes, i agree. Revitalization can be of the entire neighborhood, and you can completely remove several buildings, built something new, and revitalize entire area. Also, it can be just revitalization of one object, so as far as know, i love this concept of thread. Any kind of revitalization, just one object, entire street, or part of the town.

Thanks. I got the photos from Bialystok thread but they were probably posted there as an example. I made the corrections in my earlier thread.
