That's hq of "Lietuvos energija" - electricity transmission system operator in Lithuania.

The building looks better at night but it still looks nice at day too, atleast much better than before reconstruction. Here is photo by Mantaz:

I find stripping (not reconstructing) the "crowns" of buildings after the war strangely allegorical to stripping the crown of polish emblem's eagle in 1945.
I guess the reasons for doing that were more economical than ideologial, but weren't there some buildings in Warsaw, which despite suffering relatively minor damage in war (rare cases ), got their "too beautiful" facades torn down and reconstructed in soc-style? F*cking commies...

WOW... the lithuanian electricity building is by far the best example i've seen of such reconstruction.
