Rue de la République, Marseille. The entire street has been undergoing refurbishment for a few years now. These two photos show the difference between parts of buildings that have been renovated compared to where work hasn't yet started.

In the second photo, both buildings still need a refurbishment. The left one just needs it more badly than the right one.

Great stuff! It is a re-post by the way, was posted a few pages back ;-)
Isn't this the castle of which the park was completely flooded last summer?

You might (or might not) know that my fellow Dutch people complain a lot about the amount of money the Netherlands contributes to the EU, but if my tax €€'s are spent restoring those lovely Eastern European cities like that, I'm cool with it ;-))

The reconstruction of this castle should be a great example to follow for Poland. By the way, it is located less than 1 km from the Polish border and it's a part of the Park Mużakowski / Muskauer Park UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Zamosc is pumping tens of millions of euros into revitalization. Quite possibly the most comprehensive one in Poland right now.
