Schofield Building, Cleveland (1910s)
Before: The facade was filthy and crumbling so they covered it up with panels in 1976.


Thankfully it was still slavageable:


The newest photo I could find (November 2013)

It's planned to be finished by the end of this year.

Once a dreary, crime-filled social housing block built in 1961, Park Hill, Sheffield, has been restored to a clean and wonderfully crafted British modernist icon, as it was meant to be.
What I like is that it hasn't deviated from its mid-century modern roots. The clean restored concrete, flawless glass, and stark yet colourful metal cladding fits well with classic 60s design.

Before: no architectural unity, no clean lines, rotting ugly materials:
