Showing the new building against the restored neo-gothic one only shows up the sheer banality of the new - Wroclaw should get better than this.

Both buildings are cool in their own way.

That's really nice but showing a 'before' picture would make more of an impact

Come on guys, examples from Warsaw and Wrocław are just normal development. Where the hell you see urban renewal there?

Revitalization in Your Cities

I can contribute so much to this thread just given transformations of dilapidated buildings in Buffalo, NY, US.

What? The case of Warsaw, it was an underutilized site with an old industrial building. That's renewal. It doesn't need to be straight "renovation" to equal "renewal."

Don't make me laugh. Only thing that left from that shed hall (?) is small, front wall. This is NOT revitalization.

What do you think revitalization is then? Only renovation or restoration? No. If that would be the case, that would be the thread name. Revitalization means anything that can transform an underused or ugly area to a vibrant or more beautiful area. (revitalization > life > lively) This includes renovations, urban renewal (also includes replacement) or just general beautification. So nearly all buildings in an area could be demolished and it still would qualify for the "revitalization" title. It's a very broad term. Next time know what a word means before you correct someone.

Don't teach father how to make kids, especially when you seem to understand how to do it, but never hit right hole - feel so bad for you.

As I wrote earlier this can't be listed as revitalization, because there is nothing there that was actually brought to live. Well, apart from one wall used as small part of facade.
Copy that and print on your monitor before you cite book texts without knowledge how to use them practically.
