Yes London Bridge Tower is indeed approved and construction is expected to start by the end of 2006.

in fact, just Japan, Usa, Germany, France, Italy, China and the Uk has a higher GDP than Spain, while Canada, india, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, and Sk has a smaller one, you have to use the PPP method if you ,somehow, want then to surpases Spain,at least hypothetically,´coz as its name shows , the PPP is just a method based on parities , is not the real or nominal GDP a country has, it´s just a fiction to calculate how many things you can buy with the same amount of money in different countries, something that make sense when comparing GDP per head, but makes no sense when you are comparing total GDP´s. Can you imagine a highly indebted country with the IMF telling then something like this " hey, IMF guys, we know we have a debt of 1000million dollars, but we are gonna pay you just 650 million dollars, ´coz if you apply the PPP method that´s the equivalent of 1000million dollars in our country"

So yes, Spain has the 8th largest economy of the world.

If u only look at the GDP brazil, mexico, russia, india, china, and south korea, have a higer gdp but that just measures the size of the economy, in order to get an accurate reading of the wealth of a country u have to to go to the gdp per capita and use it in tandem with the GDP. If u do that, all of those countries with the exception of china do to its massive GDP are not as powerful economically as spain. however, in terms of wealth and size, spain is number 8 in the world. the only reason it is not in the g8 is because spain has opted for a lower international profile than the other 4 large western european countries, and has therefore not pushed for memebership. and russia of course is in it because of its vast nuclear stockpile and a deal with the US when the soviet union collapsed. by the end of 2005, spain will have surppased the GDP 1 trillion dollar mark. and is growing faster than any other large country in europe. it is estimated that if spain continues growth of 1% point over the EU for the next 5-10 years, its gdp per capita, will be higer than italy´s and on par with france germany and uk.

^ Actually, the original G7 was the "trillian dollar economy club". Essentually, Spain couldn't have joined. Canada was allowed in to give another north american nation to counter balance the European nations in the G7.

right, perhpas i didnt explain myself correctly, now the g8 is the group of the richest and most industrialized countries in the world. russia is only in there today because of if past as a world superpower and large military and nuclear power. It is a third world country and should not be there as of today. If you reall want to count the richest and most industrialized 8 spain would be number 8 (or seven, some estimates put its gdp at a bit higher than canada´s). however, because of the governments´refusal to take a more prominent role in the world stage and specifially the US economy and market, many americans still dont see spain as a world power, though it is, especially in europe. But that is spain´s fault.

whatever EURO:$=1.2 or 1.3,the PPP of Spain doesn't change, and the living standard doesn't change,GDP is important for a country and the govt but far less important for the public.

Then at least something good came out of the fire. But I think this is just a vision of how the design might look, right?

Madrid has much potential to create a nice, balanced skyline. When did Madrid get in the skyscraper business? I see only a few, and they look 80s-90s ish. The new buildings are really gonna change the skyline of the city. I need to visit Madrid, seeing as I hablo espanol and all.

Nice view Pedrillo

This picture has been taken from the Palacio de Oriente (Royal Palace).

This is one of my favourite places in Madrid for a walk, specially in the evening.
