Lonely In Queens, NYC

Lonely In Queens, NYC

Still single (out in Queens) after all these years!!

50 story Citibank tower in Long Island City, queens, NYC.

Built in 1989, One Court Square also includes a five-story, low-rise building that offers a wide range of amenities, including a fitness center, dining facilities, a branch library, a branch of Citibank and eight retail tenants.

:uhh:

I find it sad that there is hardly any other skyscrapers in LIC after Citibank.

That area isn't part of LIC anyway, it's actually considered to be Hunters Pt, which some confuse for being part of LIC.

Upon my arrival to NYC last january i caught a cab from JFK airport. Citibank tower was the first skyscraper i caught a glimpse of from the cab window after leaving JFK for Manhattan. I remember thinking it looked really tall. It is a tall building but it looks even taller because it's so alone. I was also surprised by it as i'd never seen or heard anything about it before (and i've visited these boards for years)!! It was a 'new' tower to me. I like it's turquoise windows. I'm attatching a picture of it taken from the top of the ESB so you can get a better idea how alone it is...

No they are not. Where did you hear that? Long Island (which includes Queens) is actually 190 km long and further east, especially in Nassau and Suffolk counties it contains some of the wealthiest places in Metro NYC

i don't get it. I thought long island was adjacent to new york city borders, and not within nyc. Queens is part of nyc so how can LI include queens?

Many people seem to overlook that fact. Two of New York City boroughs - Brooklyn and Queens are located on Long Island. Long Island has four counties - Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau and Suffolk. Nassau and Suffolk are outside New York City limits.

Hm, maybe you mean the Bronx, although New York City is the safest big city in the United States and as every city that size has some more and less dangerous areas. I am not afraid to go outside at night whereas I wouldn't do that in cities like Atlanta, Jackson or Dallas.

I don't know where he's from. I know that the murder rate in the city has decreased by almost 400% in the last 15 years.

The product of a broken home in the rough Jamaica neighborhood of Queens and, in turn, the storied hood's hustling streets themselves, 50 lived everything most rappers write rhymes about but never actually experience: drugs, crimes, imprisonments, stabbings, and, most infamously of all, shootings

sounds lovely.
