How long did it take them to build this ride?
I think it only took about 2-3 months to put up the ride with a few months before that building the foundations.

http://www.coasterforce.com used to have a good thread on its construction in one of their forums but then they had to get a new forum and lost all their threads.

I was at Great Adventure the day before it opened - it was only open to season pass holders.

One thing that was happening though, was that it took usually one failed attempt before the train went completely over the top.

What's with great coasters and closing down? It happened to Steel Dragon 2000 (Former tallest and current longest roller coaster) and now this one?

Thats only because Steel Dragon 2000 had an accident and they said that the Japanese are very superstitious and they haven't opened the ride since. The ride is operatable, but they choose not to.

I got a chance to ride it. They open up the park an hour early for season pass holders. Luckily I only had to wait 25 minutes to ride it. (the usual wait could get up to 6 hours) While waiting the group that was ahead of us had a lady who had her hands up during the ride. Just so happened she got her hands stuck somehow, it scared me a little but I surpassed it.

Apparently it's now closed for at least a month due to a major malfunction that caused damage to both the track and the break fins.

It looks more scary in the picture than in the movie, because it is over so fast. May be I would dare to take a ride after all.

yeah tell me about it, before the kingda ka, me and my friends drove out to cedar point (given that we were going to chicago) but still, drove out there from seattle and the stupid ride was closed...

I feel like I am going to pee from just looking at the pics. Once the big issues are worked out it would be worth the trip!
