I think Federation Tower is alright but boring.

It can't compete with the Gherkin the Messeturm. Some people think the Messeturm doesn't deserve being called the best European Skyscraper but it definately is one of the best examples of post-modernism and the complexity of its layout (it changes from a square footprint to a square with retracted edges to a cylinder and then completes with a pyramide) is magnificent.

agree! i suppose it's because of the pyramid shape and the surrounding environment as well, bare in mind that this tower is as tall as the eiffiel tower which also looks very tall in real life. so, i am not very surprised why it looks taller than it's actual height though.

I'm sure my list reflects the fact. it is not like yours (no overestimate or underestimate). westend strasse is 1000 times and federation tower is 10000 times better than messeturm

there is no such thing as "facts" in terms of aesthetics.
the best you can do to proof your claim, is providing architectural arguments.

user jeromee already gave some hints why messeturm is good architecture (talking about the flexibility of its footprint). it resembles all elements of any art-deco skyscraper while using as little elements as possible. its basically just a box, a tube, then a pyramide while each element dissolves itself after a certain height. using few elements, achieve much impact, thats always good aesthetics.

Picture
I don't what your picture is showing but Mosfilm Tower is actually a quite nice tower. (Actually there are a lot of commieblocks in Moscow that shape it's cityscape, aren't there?)
But anyway, that doesn't contradict with il fenomenos and mine very rational explanation why Messeturm is the (or one of the?) best skyscapers in Europe and calling it a Commieblock (Vitmos) is ridiculous.

I don't know why Germans are being called nationalists in the European Skylines thread, in fact you and VitMos are Russian and appear to be much more nationalistic.

do yourself a favour and spend your time for something better than talking with so143's step brother dude.

The top part of a tower has uniqueness and beauty, but the facing most part (red color) transforms it in usual commieblock.
The majority of Germans at this forum don't see achievements of other countries and cities. Only in this theme all Germans named the best tower Messeturm, but there are many other beautiful buildings.
I not the nationalist absolutely, me some Germans only irritate

Eastern Europeans are more nationalistic ones normally, whereas Western Europeans already often forgot where homeland is.
