Great project. Beautiful location. Most important it's already under construction. Even partly glass covered I love round shapes. We have too much sharp edges This tower looks good ! That's it !

There are also retrograde orbits that are more than just illusions (see: Triton)...it hasn't been so long since my astronomy days .

This building is going to look really sweet. Chicago is putting on a clinic for Asia on how to make a skyline look classy. It appears as though the Chinese aren't learning though.

I thought the building was big already, especially in person. It's going to be GINORMOUS when it's done.

Thanks Retro. The next setback can't come soon enough. The more I see this building, the more I like it. I like that silver/grey cladding that is currently the highest level cladded. It looks awesome with the blue glass. We just recently changed one of the rooms in our house and what do you know, blue walls silver carpet! Yeah baby!! Thank the skyscraper gods for this building or dare I say Trump. Yes Mr. Trump, please build another magnificant tower in our city. I don't care what you say about Rosie.

It'd be great fun if Trump could find a way to work his...um...rug into the next tower, as a kind of branding. The blond hair-helmut is his signature, right? The way they used fern motifs on Carbon and Carbide to underscore the company tie-in to fossil fuel, or steel on Inland Steel - only with hair. Just a thought.

So if he were to spike his hair, would that be like a spire? Flat top = flat roof. Mohawk = curtain wall. Wigs are like antennas, they don't really count even though they look like they should.

not if Rosie could find a way to pull it off from his glued and inflated egoed scalp, drag it through the mud and the muck, dip it in the Chicago River, and set it on fire, before tramping on it.

This project has come a long way. Can anyone post the originally proposed renderings? Yikes... if those plans stuck, TT would've brought shame and embarrassment to our cherished skyline (like Fabio's bloody nose on the roller coaster, lol). But, because the decision-makers were open-minded and flexible enough to consider revisions, we now have an absolute pearl of a skyscraper coming together in one of the most prominent locations in the entire city.

BTW, Ghost's "progress picture" is awesome.

Yeah, well, we have a secret weapon here in town named Richard Daley.

What happens to Chicago in Life after Daley? His lasting legacy will hopefully be the 2016 games.

It was in consultations with the NIMBYs that convinced Adrian Smith to round the building's corners removing its earlier "blocky" look. For once, the NIMBY's had it right.

this picture reminds me of the fact that with each setback in the building's design comes a faster rate of rise. In other words, some time in the not-too-distant future, this puppy is going to start poking up and emerging from the surrounding skyline, visible from the Kennedy, Ryan, LSD, and more.
