Looking very nice! The more i see this construction, the more i'm liking it.
I'm assuming this was the old site of the Sun-Times building? That building was so ugly... this is by far a superior replacement

I liked the Sun-Times Building. With a facelift it could have been a very handsome example of mid-century architecture, it was well proportioned. It reminds me of BBC's Television Centre. Or reminded, since it's dead.

The more progress this thing makes the more I fall in love with it.

What's the floor count up to?

thought there was more??? Pricipal Building in Des Moines has around 45 and its only 630ft high. Trump is way higher than Des Moines' Principal. I might be wrong.

look at it this way:

if you take the base up to the first set back, you get something akin to a 21st version of the old Sun Times building.....consider it a two-for-one deal!

The ceilings on the floors are probably a lot taller. This is luxury condos and hotel suites we're talking about.

The first column is covered in stainless steel. And some of the lobby, and building today.

Dented?

It looks like some of the stainless cladding was dented already. Is that something that can be suction popped back to true?

At any rate, thanks for the 3D model. Is the circular "cake topper" and spire of accurate scale? If so, why did anyone sign off on that design element? It looks vestigal and completely out of place.

If that's real stainless steel, it would probably take more suction to pop out than even Paris Hilton could generate.
