I took this from the top of 1 s dearborn yesterday. Trump is starting to poke its head out pretty good from the skyline. We can only see Hancocks antennas now.

They're just washing the dust, dirt and construction grime off the windows. You can see the buckets hanging off their belts.

I didn't think they were washing because it looked like they were always focused on a mullion. But, I think I can see the suds when I look closer at the last photo :P.

On a more interesting note: there is a video tour of some of the hotel portion of the Tower on CBS2's web site:

Opening night at 16...

It was a cold, windy, snowy night...

Welcome...

The Lobby...

On our way up...my gf thinks I'm crazy....

The wine cellar...

Crystal...

The dinning room...

It was my birthday dinner...

The bar at 16...

Quite a view...

Someday...

American fine dining is the best way I can put the description of the menu. There is a tasting menu, ranging from $85-150. I didnt really look at the offerings on that because I knew I wasn't going to get it. My brother's girlfriend and I both had the fillet ($38), my brother had the trio of pork ($34) and my girlfriend had the lamb loin ($41)....I actually though the lamb was the best, and my fillet was disappointingly not that great, but still good.

The desserts were also not great. I had a praline and banana number with some lime ice cream. 6.5/10.

Overall the tab was $305 for the 4 of us, before tip. We each had a drink, entree, and dessert.

The service was excellent. Overall it was very expensive and the food did not blow me away, but to be there on opening night when they are still pouring concrete on the upper floors was really cool. I will go back for a cheese platter they had ($14 per person) that my girlfriend really wanted to try.

Excellent shots, especially those of the views! I'm glad to hear you're allowed to take photos from up there. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes they were nice about me taking pictures. I didnt use a flash, I think that was key. I don't think they would want flashes constantly going off. I was asked if my pictures were for personal use only however. But the staff was cool about it. But it was opening night, so I dont think they would make a big stink about it.
