I agree. The building is centrally located so it looks awesome! It's omnipresent near north, near south, near east, and near west.

Views are terrific all around due to the nature of the building, as noted by others.

And there is another benefit: location. How many great buildings can offer that end-of-street view that you can get looking north on Wabash in the Loop and points south as well as on Rush looking south from River North.

It's our only super tower that can offer those perspectives and they come strictly by location rather than by planning for that end-of-the-street locale in the way that the BOT was.

that's kind of like saying falling water by frank lloyd wright is good because it's on a water fall in pennsylvania.

you are partly right, but don't devalue what an experienced architect in adrian smith brought to this job. for all it's great sighting, it could've been a lumbering gaudy hulk of a building.....look at 'the donald's' track record up until now.

Trump Tower: Getting near the top

In case you've been craning your neck lately and wondering when the enormous Trump Tower would stop plowing into the sky, the moment is nigh.

The concrete superstructure of the 92-story hotel and condominium tower will be completed by the end of August, reports a spokeswoman for the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the skyscraper's architects and engineers.

Even then, Trump Trump will continue its upward path with the addition of a spire that will bring its total height to 1,362 feet--about 90 feet shorter than Sears Tower, which remains the nation's tallest building.

No formal "topping out" ceremony has been scheduled yet, the Skidmore spokeswoman says. The tower is scheduled to be completed next year.

Sorry I didn't have my camera, but I must say looking down Elston provides an amazing view of Trump. It's a shame that from that angle it basically blocks out Aon Center (who I think will fade into a bit of obscurity once Trump is done), but Trump is looking good.

but it's no one museum park, a.k.a. the building flipping-off the city, a cancer chemo patient, a giant lipstick....or one of several other not too flattering names the kids at my office call it. =)

agreed though....nice pic.
