Major Districts in Your City
Which are the major districts in your city (excluding downtown)?
The major districts in my two cities Are: Panama City, Panama (born)- Casco Viejo El Chorrillo Santa Ana Calidonia Bella Vista Marbella El Cangrejo Punta Paitilla San Francisco Obarrio San Francisco, California (live)- Western Addition North Beach Marina Chinatown Mission (outer/inner) Pacific Heights Richmond Sunset SOMA (South of Market) Bayview I omitted some lesser (but prominent) neighborhoods in both cities in order to focus on the major districts.

Well...in LA you can generalize into large regions like the west side, south LA, the valley, etc.
Outside of downtown, I guess the districts would be called by the city names...Venice, Hollywood, Westlake, etc. Too many to name! |

Frieght District West Bottoms East Bottoms Quality Hill Hospital Hill Country Club Plaza ("the plaza") Crown Center Westport 18th and Vine ("Jazz District") the Paseo Rosedale Fairfax River Market and...uh...downtown? There are a couple neighborhoods in midtown that have names, like Mission Hills, Brookside, etc., but I'm not sure if they count as "districts" or not. Anyway, those are the main districts. |

every single post about new york - no matter what the topic - makes me want to live there all much more.
for some reason all the neighborhood names - even the brooklyn ones inspire something in me. Anyway here are some Vancouver neighborhoods (Just the City proper, not the components of the metro area "the lower mainland", or the neighborhoods in those other parts of the metro area like brentwood in burnaby or whatever) Vancouver: West End Yaletown Coal Harbour Downtown East Side Kitsilano Fairview Point Grey Kerrisdale Marpole Dunbar Shaughnessy Oakridge Strathcona Kensington Sunset Fraserview Killarney Renfrew Sunrise edit: now with map goodness

Berlin's districts are in fact HUGE in pop size. Also in area... I read once that Berlin has the biggest sprawl for the size of the city in Europe. But I don't know, but I was twice there and can imagine that it's true...
