I think LondonFox has the best sources/information on this...

Going by the new render it looks like the changes are more significant than that. The new one is a lot fatter then in the render on page one. Less elegant looking and less soar factor. Has there been a height of width change since the first render?

I'm delighted they are keeping the same general shape though. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out in reality.

Yes, I agree. I would like to see some real street-level renders - not aerial renders, i.e. what it would look like from streets in the square mile and what it would look like from accross the river. I believe that this would give us a better idea.

London Big Bang Planner Sees Tower’s Revival in City Rebound

A plan to build a skyscraper near Liverpool Street railway station, slated to be the tallest in the City of London, may be revived this year as rising occupancy rates in the financial district draws investors, according to Peter Rees, the City’s former planning officer.

Work on the Pinnacle, an office tower designed to have a height of about 288 meters (945 feet), was halted in 2012 after the economic crisis roiled financial markets.

“There is a will to go forward, there is a demand for the space and there’s no difficulty at all in finding funding to build the project,” Rees said in a March 21 interview ahead of his retirement last week.

The U.K.’s improving economy encouraged companies to lease 7 million square feet of office space in the City of London in 2013, the most in 13 years. The Cheesegrater and the Walkie Talkie, skyscrapers in the district that have been under construction since 2010, have mainly attracted insurers as tenants.

The City of London’s success at winning tenants for new buildings, even as banks based in the area struggle to repair their balance sheets, underlines the district’s ability to overcome setbacks including the 2008 banking crash, Rees said.

“Each time the City seems to bounce back stronger than ever,” he said.

Who locked the other pinnacle thread??? The project has only just started progressing again and I'm sure more news will arise very soon, so come come now.

Someone had the 'great' idea of locking it as they thought that the only solution to preventing/diffusing a London vs New York debate was to lock the entire thread despite news on the Pinnacle emerging all the time now. At least we still have this thread.

Definitely more angular, but I will still enjoy watching this one rise into the sky. Can someone please remind me at what stage construction was frozen? Thank you.

curious to know what this will look like on my morning walk across Waterloo bridge... what with St Pauls and (depending on how far along the bridge you are) Canary Wharf/The Shard also in the frame, it should be a mighty vista!

Use this thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=227659

If the height was indeed changed back to 300m you have to provide a source.
