Indeed, this isn't the final design. However, given the square footage they've stated, and the approximate height, it's very likely to be something bulky and bland.

Indeed, perhaps not the final design, but it would be rather funny and pathetic if the final design was actually worse.

When the construction of The Pinnacle tower was put on hold, I feared that it would eventually be cancelled, which means that its elevator core stump will have to be demolished because of it. Now they're gonna have to start from scratch with a potentially boring design. Also, the total height has been cut down to 260 metres, though the floor area has been increased to 2 million square feet. Large floor areas always mean ugly or low-budget designs.

If they want to begin construction before the end of this year, then hopefully they find a goo new design that everyone doesn't bash. Also, if they were gonna increase the floor area, maybe they should have allowed a ~300 m tower to be constructed on that site, but that would be impossible because of sightline problems.

What an eyesore.

Especially if you compare it with the previous proposal.

What a disappointment compared to the original design.

Nice! Disappointment Nr. 2 after the new Bjarke Ingels Design for 2 WTC..at least this new design is not that bad like ingel's one..(sorry for off topic, but i'm kinda disappointed about the people in charge not appreciating wonderful designs)

There must be an error in the matrix..the world is going nuts..

Yes, agreed it is no Pinnacle… but it could have been a lot worse.

This revised version is OK to be fair.

Looks a bit like a taller glas version of tower 42 to me.

It does appear to pay homage to Tower 42.

I think its ok. It fits the name 'pinnacle' by being tall, albeit not the most striking. At least it will rise and something will challenge the Shard's dominance.

Honestly it looks fine, I actually like it. Granted the original design was a master piece but at this point I will just be happy to see this start rising again.

It's better than what I thought it'd end up being. Actually I don't think it's bad given the circumstances. Sure it's no "Pinnacle", but it's certainly not the f*ck up that the new 2 WTC turned out to be.

More renderings are definitely needed though.

Too chunky for my taste, otherwise it's not that bad.

I got down to the exhibition last night.

I was very impressed. The more you study the tower, walk around the model and see how it sits in different views, the more impressed you'll be. It's actually extremely elegant, well proportioned and slim. In certain views all the steps at the top fall into a very admirable symmetrical pinnacle.
The vertical lines which divide each facade into three really break down the perceived width.

Actually compoared to the previous design, the widest facades are taller and so seem slimmer. Remember how wide the widest side of the Pinnacle seemed!

The architect who was down there was very reassuring - he really cared about the project and had considered every detail. This building is designed for the current cluster and context - the previous tower was designed for a context with far fewer perfume bottle designs and in a different context altogether.

I was really reassured and glad I got to see the exhibition - I urge you all to get down there too before making up your minds

BUT

I'm increasingly annoyed that, as with all applications like this, the visuals are taken from irrelevant locations up in the sky or where the most flattering angles happen to be visible from. We need to see views of this along streets, from public spaces at eye level. This is how everyone will experience this building - not from the private lounge at the Tate Modern, or from a helicopter hovering 60m above Greenwich.
