We had the incredible english humor, the so so so great english food, their wonderful taste for clothes and interior decoration, their extremely generosity for all peoples in the world (thanks Thatcher!),... but now the most amazing: the english growth, so paradoxical! a low low low low cost growth for only rich rich rich rich people XD
How a city can build so many ugly things but attract so much rich people? Maybe because they just buy appartments for speculation but don't want to live there... so understandable x)

(PS: it's just funny to say it aloud once, but I don't want to debate, go out of europe if you want, keep your taste and culture for you, it's alright and everybody will be happy)

The strength of UK popular culture, London's status as a leader in fashion, design and cuisine or the attraction of London for people from all walks of life (from UHNWI's to migrant workers) isn't what's being debated here.

22 Bishopsgate is an office-led development with no residential units.

Very disappointing compared to the original but not bad overall.

As an Ex-Londoner living in New Zealand I am beginning to like it. Some of the renders don't do it justice and yes whilst it could have been more 'imaginative' it still has function and form.

Its not bad in it's own merit, but when you compare it to the original design then its actually quite dissappointing.

Give it a few days before the planning documents are made publically available

I assume you are referring to 'the Scalpel' scalziand? It's official name is 52-54 Lime Street and it is going to be 192m. A tower crane has just been erected on site and it is about to raise above ground level!

All this is is a modernized and taller version of Tower 42 across the street. It is too close to be a coincidence!

The proposed height of this tower is 278m (not 262m in the thread title).

I prefer the old design buy I'm happy that this is being built.
With the other towers that are under construction in the city cluster and the ones that are allready complete, the city cluster will have great height, density and quality.
This will be the second tallest in the eu after the london shard, that is another positive for london. All of londons clusters are booming right now and I'm torn between which is my favourite, I've narrowed it down to the city cluster and canary wharf. I'll make my mind up when all the uc towers are complete and the clusters are in full bloom. As for the other emerging clusters, I'm eager to see how impressive they are in 2/3 years.
Regarding 22 Bishopsgate again. There is another supertall project for the city CBD so 22 Bishopsgate won't be so prominent.
