So what is the current plan/design for this building and why does the opening page have only the oldest renderings ?

I think that the new design is beautiful, and frankly, the reduced height makes it fit in better with the City's glorious skyline.

This is a really beautiful tower.

The evolution of this tower is depicted below. Despite the height cut, the current design is the most elegant.

On the contrary, I think it's a monolithic monstrosity that overly dominates everything around it.

The only way the new simple design could be bearable is reducing its height by another 20% again allowing 1 undershaft to eventually become the focal point of the cluster.

Could not agree more with that statement! How on earth it went from the Helter Skelter design (which was elegant) to a stumpy, boring rectangle that would be better suited to Canary Wharf. Of course, this is just my opinion, but this is by far the worst tower being built in terms of design. London deserves much better i'm affraid

I hope they do something to jazz it up at the top.

I think it looks great.

1 Undershaft will be a box too, but it has been acclaimed by critics. They're both beautiful in my opinion.

Reducing its width would have resulted in an infinitely greater improvement.

Wow, what a horrible design. This tower gets worse by the iteration.

I love the new design, and think that it will go very well with the angular 1 Undershat and the new Mitsubishi tower which will rise next to it. See its cantilevers and offset blocks in the photo to the right of 22 Bishopsgate. The new Foster tower shown in the far right also is angular and will blend in well with 22 Bishopsgate.

Shame that they couldn't continue with the original design, that was gorgeous. On its own I don't think the new design works. However with 1 Undershaft next to it, it looks much better. Its better as the sidekick in the skyline rather than the dominating tower. Also, the City of London has enough "wacky" towers, and its good to have more traditional designs to even things out.

London's skyline was already ruined some years ago. Nothing else can be done now other than imploding all these buildings and building some sort of La Defense in the outskirts of London.

It's not such a bad tower in and of itself but it just doesn't deserve to be a centrepiece tower (it's almost as tall as Undershaft and looks significantly wider). Wish it was much smaller and hidden away out of sight.
