WJfox is a very respected forumer, one of the most respected forumers on these boards. You however hardly come on the boards, so I don't see how you have the right to insult a much more respected forumer like him by saying he gives alot of wrong information when infact it is him and just a handfull of others who supply most of the news for the UK section.

well im also new to these forums so perhaps i have no right to suggest what im about to, but the worst thing to do on forums is argue and bitch at people, so maybe everyone should stop bitching and just actualy discuss the glory of london which is the point of these forums! also i agree with newcastle guy about how wjfox supplies alot of the info on here and im grateful for it! and if he got something wrong then care, just chill, everyone makes mistakes!!!!!!

There probably is, somewhere. I'll keep a lookout for it. Anyway, here are some models from an exhibition in London, including a few other proposals. Thanks again to Jimbo for the pics -

In a world context no, it won't be a supertall (now that the 808m Burj Dubai is the yardstick lol), but in a London context it makes it so.

Once The Shard has been completed (apparently in 2011) @ 306m/1,003ft, it will only make it 18m/60ft taller than Bishopsgate Tower.

BTW Judging from the renders and models, this is going to be such a unique tower.

Go London!!

BTW What is the tall towards the bottom right-hand corner in this model pic? Is it the approved 217m/712ft Minerva Building?

yes that is the minerva building BUT it has recently went into the drawing board again due to a few reasons particularly because of funding issues. and it now looks set to become a low - mid rise. which is a bumer coz its a beautiful building

Beautiful building, I've never been to London & didn't realize just how dense that area is! Love that density.

Just my two cents...but I think London can do better...especially when compared to the beauty of Swiss Re the other proposals just seem to lack any grace or sense of purpose.

Some new renderings and information from the DIFA website.

Construction is now thought to be getting underway in mid-2007 -

A closer look at that information -

The text is quite pixelated, but I think it says:

"Bishopsgate Tower. Kohn Pederson Fox's star architect Lee Poliane designed the new Bishopsgate Tower to become the new heart of London's financial district. The 60-storey skyscraper will tower 288 metres over the City of London. Crosby Square and Bishopsgate, on land owned for several years now by DIFA-fonds No.1. Construction is able (?) to get underway in mid-2007."

This will be one of the most beautiful towers in London, it's stunning!

This pic reminds me of the Trump chicago for some reason, but even though it is shorter it loos like it has more soar!

And to think, it was 20m tallerwhen it first got announced. I can't wait to go to the resteraunt at the top!

What a smashing tower, the new renderings do however make it looka little fat and shorter, but it's too early to say. This will be an absolute stunner and a dominating structure. What if the Millennium Tower stood next to this instead of the Gherkin, I'd like to see such a rendering.

I would say it will be THE BEST in London and one of the most beautiful in the world. It's maybe the most elegant tower ever designed since the BoC in HK.
