So between this, Heron, the Shard and 1 New Change, there will be a lot of new space available soon.

Thanks. Who are the tenants? Also, has anyone pre-let in the Heron or 1 New Change?

this isn't a super tall - the London Bridge Tower (the shard) is a super tall and is now under construction in London - see the super tall thread.

its best not to ask, people get cranky (as i found out)

Check the [UK > London > Construction > Bishopsgate tower] thread for regular updates, many local londoners take photos when they can

Heres the thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...75557&page=180

No one is going to get mad at you for asking a productive question. Who are the tenants? What is the groundwork schedule? When might we see steel above ground? Those are all valid questions that, though you might be able to reel back twenty pages and locate the answer, there are plenty of people in the know who are willing to answer them.

When you ask, "does anyone have any updates?" or the even more irksome "could someone go and take some photos of the construction site?" people will get mad. And it isn't just because you're asking a question. Think of it logically. If someone from this forum expressly took photos of the site, one might think they were doing it not for their personal benefit, but so that everyone else might see too. No one is simply withholding recent photos until someone asks if anyone has updates.

One benefit of SSC is the extensive regional archives. Often times photo updates are posted frequently to specific projects in their regional threads and not the world threads. Try checking there first as you'll probably find the photos you so desire.

Also, for a project like this and many others started within the past two years, things don't really get above ground for at least a year so there isn't much to see and what there is to see is often hidden behind construction walls. Look at Heron, for example. We saw infrequent updates of it for a long time until suddenly there was steel above the street and now there are practically new photos every day. Bishopsgate is still nascent. Give it another year before getting antsy.

And don't ask people to go take photos. Why? Because no one will do so from a single prompt in this forum. It's not your time and energy. Offer to pay someone if you need to see so badly. If you want photos go take some yourself. If you don't live in the location, then be patient. Ask instead what stage of construction they are at. People will often answer that very politely. Just don't clog forums to bump your post count.

im just saying that i cant just fly over to london and take some pics. im just wondering if anyone can possibly snap some pictures whenever they get the chance. dont get all pissed off. if i lived close to a site of a building with a thread, and someone asked me to take some pics, i would gladly do it.

You're missing the point. Unless the skyscraper is in some obscure location, as soon as there is something to see, suddenly you'll be inundated with photos of progress. But it's worth no one's energy to go out of their way to try to take photos over a large plywood wall of a hole in the ground. People get pissy because when they see a thread bumped to the top, they assume it's an update. But instead when it's just another kid asking if anyone has updates, it just proves to frustrate more.

If you can direct me to a few examples where your calls for more updates or for someone to take photos for you have actually yielded new updates or photos instead of just pissy forumers, then I will gladly eat my words.

Agreed. And I agree with samoen313 too. If you're really desperate for all the latest photos then visit the London forum. Rest assured any significant or noteworthy updates will be posted in the WDN.
