Truly fantastic. A glorious addition to London's skyline.
I can't wait to see the progress next time I am in the City. London seems to be getting better every day (except for the immigrations policy...) |

Really like the Scale-like glass facade, it's refreshing to see glass used like this - especially seeing as it makes the design cheaper by keeping the panes the same size. (at least it says so here http://www.openbuildings.com/buildin...file-1065.html)

Quite - London has always (and I mean always - since the year dot) been a city of immigrants. For most of its history its death rate was higher than the birth rate, and its population was maintained (and grew) by way of immigration, and by no means only from within Britain. Many of the streets and places within London are named after the many international groups who settled there, for instance Lombard Street right in the heart of the City, which is named after traders from Lombardy in northern Italy.

Completely agree; immigration has kept London the economic powerhouse it is today as well as those born here. I can tell you Jetblast that it is such a fluid world now that it's becoming a pointless argument. Skilled immigration is a necessity for London and even studying it as part of this masters has shown how true it is. London is still growing at a large rate to it's 15million or so now with another 3 million or so immediately around this metro area and more will be required to feed it. So quit with the immigration talk!
The Pinnacle will be a welcome addition to the skyline. Only future problem is we'll never be allowed to get anything taller than 1,000ft AOD without moving Heathrow and City :S |

Can someone do a photoshop of what it would look like if they added a 12m spike to the top?
