1-Heron
2-Gherkin
3-Pinnacle
4-Shard

Leadenhall is a 50-50. It will either be #1 or the worst highrise for me

Can I just check - this is waiting for funding, so we don't know exactly when it will shoot upwards, right?

No, funding has been secured by British Land with a Canadian Pension fund and is a 50/50 joint venture speculative build, all the necessary contracts between BL and the pension fund have been signed.

The construction contract is out to tender right now, we should know which firm will be building it by the end of Q1 2011 (March 31st), and construction proper has been stated to begin sometime in Q2 2011.

What we are seeing on site now is the final set of piles being poured that were left undone after the tower was put on hold in 2008.

Also, this tower has no concrete core, so should rise quite quickly when it does get going...

I think the Pinnacle is much better than the shard. The pinnacle is more elegant

I like the way the leadenhall building faces it, as if looking up at it in respect and admiration.

I like these ones because they will fill up the City.

Are there any changes/progress with The Pinnacle? Does anyone have any photos? I have to admit that I'm a little bit impatient

There could be some bad news! I work next door to the pinnacle site and our building manager has been told that all work has been put on hold due to lack of funding. Most plant equipment has been removed from site and there is hardly anyone working!
Does anyone out there have any official information? Hopefully this is just a bad rumour.

It's not the first time something like that has been said in this thread, we had the same rumour a few months ago.
