Trip around London (trip 1)

So mates, I suspect you were waiting for some more pics from world's greatest city. I did a "random places in London" trip last Saturday. Here are some places I managed to visit on that day

Our first "stop" was Alexandra Palace where we got with a train from wimbledon through central London to ALexandra Palace which is in the North of London. Inside a train on our way to there, that's how a typical suburban London's train looks like, they're fast and quite comfortable, there's no air conditioning though (it was about +30C!)

Norhtern London's suburbia looks just about like any other suburbia in Southrn England, they're all the same though all pleasant and beautiful in the same way

Viws fron next to Alexandra Palace which is nothing interesting itself (just a massive building in some "old" style) but located on a massive hill from where some interesting views of London appear

Canary Wharf somewhere far far aray

Unfortunatelly camera's battery went down and I didn't manage to take any more pictures from the place (The City was also visible from there... maybe next time). After a while I got to King's Cross station (which is one of London's main railway terminals along with Victoria, Waterloo, London Bridge and few other major stations)

Here's a shot of some trains in King's Cross a few hours later

Then after some travelling with another train switching and DLR travelling towards Canary Wharf which is somewhere faraway in East London which is considered to be the "bad" part of London because of its criminal activities and generally bad appearance and mode of life. A random picture somewhere in Eastern London

Inside of a DLR train, you can actually sit near the front (or back) windows and see the view of what's in the front or back of the train

Somewhere near Canary Wharf travellng towards Greenwich which is gonna be another destination point of that day's trip

View of Greenwich University from the opposite bank of River Thames

The old Cutty Shark ship near Maritime Greenwich, there's a museum inside

Me as usually cannot stop staring at cute Asian girls (well, at least the one on the left )

Walking in Greenwich town towards Greenwich Park. It's a nice area crowded by tourists

People resting in Greenwich Park which is one of the 8 royal parks of London (there are 8 royal parks and countless number of other beautiful parks all around London, no other city in the world has so many green open spaces as London does)

Canary Wharf seen from Greenwich Park

Millenium Dome

The place was crowded, crowds of tourists flowing onto the hill and downstairs

Just minutes later after catching a DLR we're in Canary Wharf

One Canada Square, the tallest skyscraper in London and the second tallest highrise in Europe, built in 1991, designed by Cesar Pelli

Some random building in CW

Citigroup Centre tower (8 Canada Square), it's built in 2002 and is 200m high, also designed by Cesar Pelli. In fact it's shape is nearly identical to 1 Canada Square except that it hasn't got the pyramid thing on the top and has got different style of cladding

CW is a lively place during the daytime, unfortunately everything will be gone after 9p.m... it's empty and calm during nights

Last shot from that day's trip, another trip is to follow this one though, so stay tuned

I live in the suburban areas in the South West, just minutes away from Wimbledon where the famous tennis tournament is held each year. These are very pleasant areas

Wimbledon and other nearby areas (Kingston, Southern Merton) are indeed very nice and pleasant, perhaps the best suburban areas of London along with Richmond

So you're working for Citigroup? That's something to be proud of

I would not go as far as to say i am proud of working for Citi, but it looks very good on my CV.

I am sorry that i am not based in the main building (the CGC Tower) as i often go to the staff restaurant.
Great food at ok prices, but it takes me 10 min walk to get to it, or i can be really lazy and take the DLR lol.

I should take pics of London as well but i never get the time. I am glad you are on here to show the world what a great city we live in!

It would be very interesting to see some pics from these buildings (especially the 25 Canada Square), so just grab your cam some day and don't be lazy to take a couple of snaps, this kind of shots are really rare

The buildings (there is 2 of them attached one to another) look very impressive from the inside.

I am a bit apprehensive about taking photos as there are big flat screen tv's everywhere reminding people about terrorism and stuff. I can see the guards attacking me if they saw me trying to take photos of the place.

I cannot go to any floors of the building apart from public ones as i dont work in the CGC.

But i have been to the 19th floor once and the view is amazing. i can just imagine it from the very top.
