Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas

Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas

Tropical resort and hotel featuring a large marine habitat, marina, water attractions, spa, a casino, and large conference center.

The Atlantis grounds have waterfalls, streams, lagoons filled with sea creatures, underwater viewing areas: with 11 exhibit lagoons and 11 million gallons of water, the resort claims it has the "largest marine habitat in the world". The Hibiscus Lagoon has sea turtles; there are stingray lagoons, Predator Lagoon, lots more.

Atlantis guests can get wet themselves in a 7-acre snorkeling lagoon, 11 swimming pools, a lazy river, and a 3-mile white-sand beach.

Kids will be especially interested in the Atlantis waterslides . The steepest rides take off from a five-story Mayan Temple: a 60-ft. vertical drop ends in a clear tunnel inside a shark-filled lagoon. There's also a pair of Challenger slides where you can race your friends.

Other Atlantis features: a giant casino, 23 restaurants, spa, and The Dig. Themed for exploration of the Lost City of Atlantis, The Dig is a maze of tunnels and chambers with ruins and underwater views of ancient Atlantis plus sharks and other sea creatures.

Wow that is a resort and a half. It makes the resort I was at in the Dominican last winter seem like hovels in comparison. What are the prices like there?

Not nice at all- tacky/cheap. As if a Caribbean island needed "Vegasization".

The aquarium is great, the rest of the complex is faux-cheesy.

honestly, to be contrary to my conjured-up image of truly paradise in Atlantis, these views of the atlanti resort taken there does not really seem to be like utopia place..

just my thought and no offense is meant pls !

Imagine, people used to go to the Bahamas for great snorkling, scuba diving, sailing and seafood in a real island paradise filled with small, unique resorts. Now they can shop in a cookie cutter mall and sit by the pool never having to actually swim in the crystal clear azure sea or walk on the soft coral beaches. What a farce.
