chill out yo, people got different opinions on architecture.
Also, seeing how so many people like it, you are in the minority by saying its "just tall"

2. Jin Mao (Elegant outline with a brilliant facade)
3. Petronas
4. Taipei 101
5. Sears Tower (Black box)

I just LOVE the petronas tower. It's superb architecturally and though some find it overdesinged, i found it really elegant and detailed. Clearly depicts the islamic influence in the design well.

I have to say though the 2 international financial centre is very elegent as well. Simple and classy.

Jin Mao is a lil bit overdesigned (the cladding) and hence looks like a mess.

Dont care bout the sears.
i love the design of Taipe 101!!!

I think..... people who vote Sears are mainly from America and it has been built back to 70s, of coz americans would have strong affection on it.

Frankly, Sears is nothing special... but a huge black box, ESB is classic as its art deco design

2IFC, Petronas and Jin Mao are all better and more grand skyscrapers than Sears..... sorry but this is just my own opinion

Two International Finance Centre. It's one of my favorites. The curves and the setbacks make it look good, and also the metal against the blue on the facade.

1. Petronas Towers
1A. Sears.

Although the others are ok they don't really do much for me. I could almost say I don't like Jin Mao or Taipei 101.

no, theyre not better. theyre more interesting to look at.

its all a matter of taste.

also, about your first point, this basically generalizes those who like the Sears as american, when I in fact know plenty of foreigners who love this building! I cant believe you would generalize like that.
but hey its your opinion.

4. Sears (It look likes a Lego giant )
5. Taipei (A typical chinese pegoda)
2IFC, Jin Mao and Taipei are all typical chinese pegoda. If you look carefully, you will find they are mostly in same style.

Sears Tower is a classic. But I'm not a fan of it. Actually, none of them are really very appealing to me. 2IFC would be #1 in my opinion.

Sears Tower, Its a real classic. The structure of the building looks a little like the Burj Dubai Tower.

I guess the Petronas would be my fave from this list.

Strangley, for a member of this site, I tend not to like the supertalls so much. 200-300 metre scrapers tend to look better to my eye. Still I wouldn't object to a supertall popping up in my city, just for the landmark value.

I have never liked the Taipei but this photo has changed that. I don't know...the thing makes a huge statement in that pic. I voted Taipei 101.
