actually Israeli cities just cant afford the urban sprawl of european or u.s cities because most have very little land reserves and are very cautious of planning them.
Most areas will have towers alongside a few low-rise housing schemes and town houses so you get a mixed neighbourhood with different options mainly depending on what you can afford - a small 250 sqm 4 bedroom house with a small garden may cost twice or more than a 4 bedroom flat. In places like tel aviv or hertzeliya or rananna a 250 sqm house may cost 6-10 times a 4 bedroom flat, meaning you can sometimes buy an entire 6-flat building for the price of a private house! |
