Not because Manchester United play there is it?

I won't get onto the whole every city has it's nice and not so nice parts, because it's been flogged a thousand times, and this is the season of goodwill.

Just to say, I'm very proud of living in the Gtr Manchester area, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

We've already have established that you feel the same way about every city in the uk barr london . "Manchester is a bloody ugly city I'm sorry gotta be said" - this is conventional of a sitback post - don't worry, you've said it many-a-time, i'm not surprised at it in the slightest

Oh look, it was the industrial heart of the world . All Londons wealth came from manchester, it is the heart of the uk.

If it werent for Manchester London might aswell not exist.

UGLY? Shows a sign of hardworking society, filthy buildings from the black sutt from the factorys.

london - shows extreme wealth built from the people of the North. All that and all manchester can be called is ugly. You made it ugly, and the goverment that says' the north gets a fair share of equalness - my arse.

Your only saying it ugly beacuse your jelous of its beauty.

Oh come on don't get touchy lads you live in an industrial dump of a city but hey it's vibrant and fun with a rich history. Cities don't have to be pretty to be good.

Oh yes nice building btw, the skyline will rival Birmingham's once Eastgate and Sarah Tower are done.

Now come on fellow Brits.
What sort of example are we to the skyscraper fanatics of the rest of the world who use this site?
London is and always has been a superior city to Manchester.
London cannot be compared to any other British city.
Manchester is an amazing city and I hope that its rate of development and progress, while not jeopardising the city's truly awe-inspiring heritage and history, continues until Manchester, as it seems the case may be in 20/30 years time, the U.K.s only other world city.
The end.

I disagree with you Kidder, thats a very narrow minded view considering, the world comes to every major city in the UK. I know in London and up North cities liked Glasgow and Birmingham are ignored but they offer just as much if not more then Manchester, Liverpool etc. Infact you say in 20/30 years Manchester will be the UK's only other world city! ... Birmingham has just as much constrution as Manc, its just ingored. Please check out my signature. The development summary should give you an incline to what is going on in Brum

Anyway, on the tower ...

It looks superb and very amazingly slick. How thin is it? It stands out in Manchester like the Eiffel tower does in Paris. It will be a landmark for a while until the rest start going up anyway. I know many i've spoken to suggest the "New Tower" when we meet up. It really has captured Mancunians imagination

But manchester is more well known because of man u...unfortunaltly, so i also think that im about a decade or so it will be a world city, birmingham may become one, but i dont see it happening for a long time yet.

Very true, but a single football team doesnt make a city. Birmingham is developing just as fast (had its burst in the 90's) and is still producing the goods. Im sure if people really took notice things like T-Mobile, Cadbury, Lloyds etc Birmingham should and would be more recognised globally.

Anyway Birmingham City arent that bad lol ... there infact awful (im pretty sure they will be relgated from thePremiership this season)
