The new design is okay. But I like the idea of building two 'twin towers'. If we build the towers exactly the same, it would be a little sad imo. It would feel like a replacement. However in the new design, the whole WTC has the same exterior so the whole site is noticeable.

lol...not true at all I think the new NY's Designs are better than London's and basically the large American cities beat the other European cities in new scraper designs. Have you ever seen the designs for NY, Chicago, Miami, San Diego, Boston, Las Vegas, etc.

I agree that there's a lot of mediocre stuff going up, but the fact that we have so many more skyscrapers going up allows for the good designs to outnumber the good designs of Europe, Africa, and Latin America. East Asia is the only major contender

oh and ALL skyscrapers as tall as this one are just for making a statement to the world, not just the ones America builds.

And London skyscrapers arent trying to make a statement, they are getting built because their is so much need for them now. London cant build out anymore.

I can only really see 2 or 3 towers i really like going up in New York, Byrant park, and New york times HQ. I think their is another one but i cant remember what it is.

Anyway, lets get back on topic, shall we?

London's modern skyscraper designs are far superior to its counterparts in NYC.

American designs lack ingenuity and tend to be far too boxy. A box can be good, at least do it some justice!

I'm watching that documentary right now and it's making me really really sad... anyways, if they were cargo planes like the documentary suggests, then what happened to those flights? And why didn't we know what happened to them... hmm

half of NY's projects aren't even on this site, and the good one's imo far outnumber the good london designs. Don't know if you've realized but NY is building much taller beauties, and many times the amount London is building.

but anyway..this is looking too much like "city vs city" (on which there were already polls on the subect...even Chicago beat London on new designs in the city vs city forum.[both of which have awesome designs])

Any more news about this tower? We've all been waiting for so long now, they should just start building it already.
