I think the design is improving - but believe with the sentiments attached to the site, the design will only continue to evolve for another couple of years until something is found that will satisfy everyone.

The twin towers design was quite dated and would never be a satisfying option for redevelopment. However, when you compare the existing design with that of the twin towers ( looking at them in person from across the river was really something - they really dominated the Manhatten skyline! ), I don't think a replacement will complete the skyline until the design incorporates a second tower ( not necessarily a twin - but another of significant proportions ).

i totally agree, this building once finished will be a new symbol for new york same as twin towers once were. you just have to get used to it, then will it become beutifull.

I think they could improve the design of the 'spire' by making it blend more to the rest of the building design (glass facade maybe?). Right now its just a twisting box with a rocket ship on top

I say they re-design the tower!

As I predicted, there is still no progress from when I last saw it.

I think once people see the tower go up they will change their opinion and embrace it as a symbol of NYC and the USA. Does any one know when it is slated for completion, an estimate if there is no specified date?

Had waaay too much time on my hands lol. I know it may be a little out of wack

That is exactly what NY needs to build. Imagine if the former WTC was just one tower instead of twins, it would not have commanded the same presence as it once did.The buildings themselves were not the best looking but the two of them together soaring so high was completely awe inspiring. If Freedom tower had a twin I really believe it would fill the void

These buildings looks ok to me.They look like they've been slightly modified from the previous ones. And i think they won't affect the NY skyline alot.Just imagine if one of those Huge ultra modern looking tower at that site, the tower may look awkward.

Btw,what is the confirmed height???
