It would be great to build 2 of these towers. Just to say to the bastards: we are back again.
I also hope you can visit this tower like the previous ones.

I would like there to be twins, sorry, just the nostalgia in me. The Twin Towers should be reborn!!! The Petronis Towers, copied twinning from WTC.

Nice rendering, like a modernised verson of the old WTC. That would be nice with twins.

Absolutely awesome rendering of a new WTC! All these new projects try to make something all fancy and creative, and you know, nothing has really stuck with me at all. And I believe all new yorkers are saying the same thing. But this symple doubling design humbly says so much about the rebirth of the towers, strength, greater height, and even includes a little modernization. It would be an awesome symbol for us to see. I'm sure all of us deep in our hearts miss these towers dearly and would love to see them up again in at least some form. This too me does the job magnificantly, with still that little added creativity and modernism!

Its funny how just a simple alteration can make so much sense!

Very nice rendering. I actually quite like the new design of the Freedom tower, much better than the old one.

That is pretty much what Larry Silverstien wants.

I wonder if there is a way to petition for that modernized twin tower design since I think most of us like it a lot. I think this is just way too important to get wrong!

(Its simple, resembles the old tower, and looks highly advanced)...

Most importantly, it doesn't try to force itself to be beautiful, it just is...

Yes, a twin freedom tower looks great. This way they pay tribute to the twins and are still forward looking. A jazzed up version of the old towers is what I always thought should be built and this seems right. The 2 freedom towers also fit nicely into the skyline.

I just did some math. It seems the buliding is holow.
100 office storys to the roof
130 office storys to the top of the spire
If I were to rebulid the buliding it would be 130 storys with 1776 feet
(10 storys for each origional coliney)

Two freedom towers could not be built as pictured above. If that were so, the second tower would be standing where the memorial footprints are. Relatives of the victims have been opposed to rebuilding on the site of the old towers. The remainder of the space is taken up by the four libeskind towers.

Personally I don't like the look of the latest FT - it is bland and uninspiring, and what is more does not harmonize with the Libeskind towers. Although I am not a great fan of the Libeskind designs, among the officially chosen proposals I would go for the revised version of his original competition proposal. Here is a link to the one I prefer:

I think most people want them to be rebuilt regardless of whether it is built on the footprints of the old towers. Should they be higher? Of course! Does it need to be? Personally, I just want to see a design like the modern towers above and really only care about them looking as they do (similar yet modern and creative). Them being the same height doesn't bother me as much as them just getting it right.

As far as them looking bland and uninspiring, that means you also believe the previous WTC looked awful. Why? Cause the old towers where even more plain and even more blockier then this design. Am I correct?

This design is exactly the same as old with the exception of the extra glass and curves. In this case, less is definitely more! But hey, everyones entitled to their 5cents worth right?
